Ja Neen 'Andrea' Henry - You're gonna be sorry - HR 40a
The lovely 'Andrea' Henry, who also doubled as 'Ja Neen' Henry, is well known for her super rare 'Need you like a baby' on MGM and her infectious version of 'Baby boy' on Blue Rock. Her previously unreleased offering here features a Richard Parker and Barrett Strong composition that never made it past the rehearsal stage. Nevertheless, 'You're gonna be sorry' oozes a soulful delivery that is ably augmented by the Deonaires' background vocals, and perfectly suits the current soul scene.
Louis Curry - Since you've been gone - HR 040b
Louis Curry recorded three releases for M-S Records in Detroit but is probably better known for his highly prized ' You're just plain nice' on Reel. 'Since you've been gone' was the brainchild of Funk Brother Joe Hunter, who produced it too. The only copy of it, prior to this release, was a 10" acetate in the possession of Joe himself. Fortunately for us, he made it available to Hayley Records prior to his passing with a will to see it finally see the light of day. We are happy to oblige.'
